Lucia Santaella Braga

Lucia Santaella é pesquisadora 1 A do CNPq, graduada em Letras Português e Inglês. Professora titular no programa de Pós-Graduação em Comunicação e Semiótica da PUCSP, com doutoramento em Teoria Literária na PUCSP em 1973 e Livre-Docência em Ciências da Comunicação na ECA/USP em 1993. É Coordenadora da Pós-graduação em Tecnologias da Inteligência e Design Digital, Diretora do CIMID, Centro de Investigação em Mídias Digitais e Coordenadora do Centro de Estudos Peirceanos, na PUCSP. É presidente honorária da Federação Latino-Americana de Semiótica e Membro Executivo da Associación Mundial de Semiótica Massmediática y Comunicación Global, México, desde 2004. É correspondente brasileira da Academia Argentina de Belas Artes, eleita em 2002. Foi eleita presidente para 2007 da Charles S. Peirce Society, USA. É também um dos membros do Advisory Board do Peirce Edition Project em Indianapolis, USA e um dos membros do Bureau de Coordenadores Regionais do International Communicology Institute. Foi ainda membro associado do Interdisziplinäre Arbeitsgruppe für Kulturforschung (Centro de Pesquisa Interdisciplinar em Cultura), Universidade de Kassel, 1999-2009. Recebeu o prêmio Jabuti em 2002, 2009, 2011 e 2014, o Prêmio Sergio Motta, Liber, em Arte e Tecnologia, em 2005 e o prêmio Luiz Beltrão-maturidde acadêmica, em 2010. Foi professora convidada pelo DAAD na Universidade Livre de Berlin, em 1987, na Universidade de Valencia, em 2004, na Universidade de Kassel, em 2009, na Universidade de Évora em 2010, na Universidad Nacional de las Artes, Buenos Aires, 2014, na Universidade Michoacana de San Hidalgo, México, 2015 e na Universidade de Caldas, Colômbia, a partir de 2018. Foi pesquisadora associada no Research Center for Language and Semiotic Studies em Bloomington, Universidade de Indiana, em repetidos estágios de pesquisa, especialmente em 1988, pela Fulbright, Nessa mesma universidade, fez pós-doutorado em 1993, pelo CNPq. Desde 1996, tem feito estágios de pós-doutorado em Kassel, Berlin e Dagstuhl, Alemanha, sob os auspícios do DAAD/Fapesp. 258 mestres, doutores e pós-doutores defenderam seus títulos sob sua orientação, de 1978 até o presente e supervisionou 12 pós-doutorados. Tem 50 livros publicados, dentre os quais 6 são em co-autoria e dois de estudos críticos. Organizou também a edição de 21 livros. Além dos livros, Lucia Santaella tem mais de 400 artigos publicados em periódicos científicos no Brasil e no Exterior. Suas áreas mais recentes de pesquisa são: Comunicação, Semiótica Cognitiva e Computacional, Inteligência Artificial, Estéticas Tecnológicas e Filosofia e Metodologia da Ciência.

Lucia Santaella is a researcher 1A of CNPq, graduated in Portuguese and English Literature. She is a Full Professor in the Post-Graduate Program in Communication and Semiotics and Director of the Post-Graduate Program in Technologies of Intelligence and Digital Design at PUCSP, with a PhD in Literary Theory at PUCSP in 1973 and a Livre-Docência in Communication Sciences at ECA / USP in 1993. She is the Director of the International Center for Peircean Studies at PUCSP. She is the Honorary President of the Latin American Federation of Semiotics She is the Brazilian correspondent of the Argentinian Academy of Fine Arts, elected in 2002. She was elected president for 2007 of the Charles S Peirce Society, USA. She is also a member of the Advisory Board of the Peirce Edition Project in Indianapolis, USA and a member of the Bureau of Regional Coordinators of the International Communicology Institute. She was also an associate member of the Interdisziplinäre Arbeitsgruppe für Kulturforschung (Center for Interdisciplinary Research in Culture), University of Kassel, 1999-2009. She received the Jabuti Prize in 2002, 2009, 2011 and 2014, the Sergio Motta Prize, Liber in Art and Technology, in 2005 and the Luiz Beltrão academic maturity award in 2010. She was a guest lecturer at the Free University of Berlin, in 1987, at the University of Valencia in 2004, at the University of Kassel in 2009, at the University of Évora in 2010, at the National University of the Arts, Buenos Aires, 2014 and at the Michoacan University of San Hidalgo, Mexico, 2015. She was an associate researcher at the Research Center for Language and Semiotic Studies in Bloomington, Indiana University, in repeated stages of research, especially in 1988, with a Fulbright grant, at the same university, she completed postdoctoral studies in 1993, with a CNPq grant. Since 1996, she has completed postdoctoral stages in Kassel, Berlin and Dagstuhl, Germany, under the auspices of DAAD / FAPESP. 245 master and PhD students defended their dissertations and theses under her guidance from 1978 to the present and she supervised 8 postdoctoral fellows. She has published 45 books of which 6 are in co-authorship and two are critical studies. She also organized the edition of 16 books. In addition to the books, Lucia Santaella has more than 400 articles published in scientific journals in Brazil and abroad. Her most recent research areas are: Communication, Cognitive and Computational Semiotics, Technological Aesthetics and Philosophy and Methodology of Science.
